Inktober 2020

Every year from October 1st-31st, millions of Instagram users participate in a drawing challenge called Inktober, in which the hosts provide a daily prompt that each participant must use to create an ink drawing, posting it to their account with the hashtag #inktober. This is my second time doing Inktober, and the first time I’ve made it all the way through without skipping any days.

Like most artists, I am my greatest critic; but I can’t deny that I’ve come a very long way since my first time undertaking the challenge in 2018. I incorporated metallic paint into many of the pieces and used Inktober as an opportunity to experiment with new techniques. Knowing there was always tomorrow helped me to let go of my own expectations for myself and just let each artwork become whatever it was to be.

Most of these originals are available for purchase on the shop, as are many art prints for those on a tighter budget. During November, you can buy two originals and get one free—just use the code INKTOBER20.
